Gov. Jay Nixon Organizational Meeting
Wed., Jan. 25th
6:30pm – 7:30pm
Memorial Student Union
518 Hitt St. Stotler room #1
Columbia, MO

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the campaign strategy, the new
opponent, and answer questions about the campaign among other topics.

There will be a sign up page that will be available after the first of year and you will be kept posted when that goes live online.

Welcome Dan Atwill, Boone County’s New Presiding Commissioner

Dan began his career in active duty with the United States Air Force as a Captain in the JAG Corps. He served as Chief of Military Justice at Nellis, AFB, Nevada, and later as an attorney at the Headquarters of the USAF Communications Command at Richards Gebaur AFB, in Belton, Missouri. After completing four years in the USAF, he returned to Columbia, Missouri to practice law with the firm of Knight and Ford. During the next two decades, he was involved in commercial litigation, oil and gas explosions, automobile accidents, divorce litigation, train accidents, chemical spills, and workers’ compensation cases. Dan, with partner Rick Montgomery, co-founded the law firm of Atwill & Montgomery.

Family:
Dan and Karen Eads Atwill have been married since 1968 and have 3 children: Dana Wilhite, D.V.M.; Kirsten Craver, J.D.; and Daniel E. Atwill, a realtor. Dan and Karen have 5 grandchildren.

Education:
University of Missouri, A.B., 1969; University of Missouri, J.D., 1971

Community / Civic Involvement:
Dan is a former member of the Columbia Parks and Recreation Commission, The Columbia Police Foundation, The Boone County Sherriff’s Scholarship Committee, and numerous other local governmental and service organizations.

Nicole Galloway Sworn in as Boone County Treasurer

Nicole Galloway, a Certified Public Account and Certified Fraud Examiner, was appointed by Governor Jay Nixon to Boone County Treasurer on April 13 and was sworn in on April 22. Previously Nicole worked as a Corporate Auditor for Shelter Insurance. Nicole and her husband, Jon, live in Columbia.
